Medicine Heads Exhibition - Stroud
As part of a week of events and activities for Mental Health Awareness Week our team in Stroud are celebrating with a powerful art exhibition. The exhibition aims to widen awareness and encourage understanding in mental ill health through exhibits that strike a powerful insight into how society deals with the subject.
"The aim of the exhibition is to de-stigmatise mental ill health. It's been done to encourage an open conversation in the same way that people would do around any other illness" - Rita Long, Exhibition Curator
"Fascinating seeing the similarities and insight into a hidden world we all experience at some point!" - IM, Foundation Degree Art Student
Themes exhibitors were asked to explore include; "what does medication mean?". Pieces have been created using a mixture of 2d, 3d and 4d audio accounts. All of the pieces have been created by people involved in Independence Trust activities.
The exhibition runs from Thursday the 17th to Sunday the 20th at the Museum in The Park in Stroud.
